Premeditated Imitation

A pastiche is a work of art created by an artist that closely imitates the work of the artist’s predecessors. It is not a direct copy of the predecessors work; it is often an ode to it. A forgery is a work of art made to deceive through direct and precise, premeditated imitation which causes us to question the artistic integrity of the artist.
